  shows how AI connects visual perception\, world understanding\, planning\
 , and control - revealing how robotic systems move from raw sensor data to
  intelligent action in real environments.   This webinar series offers a
 n accessible introduction to AI-based robotic vision and control\, with a 
 strong focus on how perception\, planning\, and action are integrated into
  intelligent robotic systems. Designed for a broad audience\, the series w
 ill break down complex ideas to accessible explanations and examples\, wit
 hout requiring a deep technical background.This opening session of the web
 inar series offers an accessible introduction to AI-based robotic vision a
 nd control\, setting the stage for the sessions to follow. Starting from 
 the historical evolution and motivation of computer vision\, it revisits f
 undamental questions: how machines recognize\, reconstruct\, and segment m
 eaningful real-world entities\, and what core complexities remain central 
 to the field today. Building on this foundation\, the session introduces h
 ow modern AI systems transform raw sensor data into structured representat
 ions of objects\, scenes\, and spatial relationships. A central theme is t
 he transition from perception to action - examining how visual observation
 s are enriched with semantic meaning\, geometric structure\, and functiona
 l properties such as affordances\, enabling robots not only to see their e
 nvironment but to interpret it in terms of what actions are possible.This 
 session lays the foundation for the follow-up webinars Learning\, Percepti
 on\, and Robotic Decision Intelligence and From Planning to Action in Robo

 raction.SpeakersDr. Csaba Beleznai (AIT Austrian Institute of Technology)
            Dr. Csaba Beleznai is a Senior Scientist at the AIT A
 ustrian Institute of Technology\, bringing over 26 years of expertise in C
 omputer Vision\, Machine Learning\, and Deep Learning. His research focuse
 s on solving complex 3D object pose estimation tasks essential for robotic
  navigation and object manipulation\, as well as developing advanced visio
 n-based perception models for broader robotic applications. Dr. Beleznai h
 olds an M.S. from the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany) and a Ph.D
 . in Physics from Claude Bernard University\, Lyon (France). Committed to 
 education\, he regularly lectures at various summer schools and universiti

   Dr. Patrik Zips is a Senior Scientist at the AIT Austrian Institute of
  Technology\, working in the Center for Vision\, Automation and Control. H
 e has over 15 years of experience in robotic task and motion planning\, wi
 th a strong focus on developing algorithms that are robust and feasible in
  real-world settings involving highly nonlinear dynamics. His research bri
 dges theory and practice\, with many of his methods deployed and validated
  in AIT’s large-scale robotics lab\, an experimental environment for aut
 onomous utility machines operating in challenging outdoor conditions. Dr. 
 Zips holds a PhD in Automation and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engin
