AI:ATHow does AI perceive our 3D world from a few photos? How can it repre
sent it and reason about it? Join us in this deep dive webinar to learn ho
w AI can visually understand. How does AI reconstruct a 3D scene from a han
dful of photos? This session lifts the hood on learnable 3D scene represen
tation\, aimed at ML practitioners\, designers\, and persons with a techni
cal interest but not necessarily in computer vision. We start with inverse
rendering\, the paradigm that lets us learn 3D structure directly from 2D
images\, and survey the landscape of how 3D scenes can be represented (NeR
 Fs\, point clouds\, meshes\, … ) before diving deep into Gaussian Splatt
ing: how it works\, why it's fast\, and what makes it different from neura
l implicit approaches. We'll then explore practical applications: 3D recons
truction\, infusing semantic meaning into 3D scenes\, and text-based scene
retrieval that allows querying the 3D world using natural language. You'l
l leave with a solid\, intuitive grasp of how AI learns to perceive and re
present 3D space\, and where this fast-moving field is headed. At the end o
f this session you will:Understand the inverse rendering paradigm and how
AI learns 3D structure from 2D imagesGrasp how the Gaussian Splatting algo
rithm works under the hood\, and why it's fast and efficientSee how multi-
modal AI methods incorporate Gaussian Splatting to tackle various tasks in
an explainable manner  Target audienceAnyone from industry\, public adm
in and academia interested in 3D Computer Vision. This webinar is open and
free of charge for all participants from academia\, industry\, and public
administration from EU and/or EuroHPC JU member countries.Entry level & pr
