Quantum computing is no longer just a physicist's playground—it is actively transitioning into an industrial asset. But how do go from academic breakthroughs towards real-world use cases? Join us as we demystify quantum tech and identify the practical use cases.

The transition of quantum computing from theoretical research to a viable industrial tool is one of the most critical technology shifts of our time. However, moving from lab scale to commercial impact requires more than just better hardware; it demands robust software ecosystems, scalable architecture, and a clear understanding of where quantum advantages actually lie.

In this webinar, we will explore the practical realities of getting "QuantumReady." We will also examine the emerging role of quantum machine learning, assessing how hybrid classical-quantum algorithms might realistically enhance specific AI workloads like pattern recognition and optimization. We will move past the hype to look at how businesses can successfully navigate current hardware limitations and scalability challenges to build long-term value.

Target audience

This webinar is open and free of charge for all participants from academia, industry, and public administration from EU and/or EuroHPC JU member countries.

Speakers

Dr. Stefan Hillmich (Software Competence Center Hagenberg, SCCH)
Dr. Stefan Hillmich is a Senior Researcher for Software Science and the Research Team Lead for Quantum Computing and Technologies at the Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH). He received his PhD from the Johannes Kepler University Linz, where his research focused on design automation for quantum computing, including the efficient simulation and compilation of quantum circuits. An expert in quantum software systems, Dr. Hillmich bridges the gap between academic research and practical industry applications, driving initiatives like the Quantum Algorithm Engineering COMET module to prepare organizations for the quantum era. He is an officially recognized IBM Qiskit Advocate, an ACM member, and regularly serves as a reviewer for leading international journals and conferences in the field.
