A practical introduction to workflow automation with n8n. Build a complete workflow and learn the foundations needed to design reliable automated processes.
This introductory workshop provides a practical entry point into workflow automation with n8n. Participants build a complete workflow during the session. No programming knowledge and no local installation are required.
The workshop begins with an AI agent that responds to user input, demonstrating how system prompts govern its behaviour. The workflow is then restructured as a group exercise: the chat interface is replaced by a web form, and the conversation becomes an automated text summary.
The final section focuses on operational reliability. Invalid input is introduced deliberately to observe failure behaviour and implement the corresponding safeguards. The course will take place from 13:00 to 16:30!
What you will learn:
- Structure an n8n workflow and understand how data moves between nodes
- Manage credentials securely in n8n
- Integrate and control an AI agent through prompt design
- Implement error handling and activate a workflow
- Exchange input and output components without rebuilding the core logic
Target audience
Professionals seeking a practical introduction to automation, whether to implement workflows themselves or to assess the potential for automation within their organisation.
This webinar is open and free of charge for all participants from academia, industry, and public administration from EU and/or EuroHPC JU member countries.
Entry level & prerequisites
Beginner – no prior knowledge is required. Access to n8n is required. A second or large screen is recommended.
